Cyclone Biparjoy: The cyclonic storm Biparjoy is taking a fierce form. It is raining heavily since morning. Equally strong winds are blowing. It seems to be more dangerous than what has been told about the storm. Electric wires and poles have fallen down due to strong winds. Electricity has disappeared in 45 villages of Maliya tehsil of Morbi district. An official of the Electricity Department told that electricity is being restored in 9 villages. Biparjoy has hit the Gujarat coast late last night. Due to its low speed, it is taking time to move forward. The center of Biparjoy Cyclone was centered on the Saurashtra-Kutch region, 30 km north.

Biparjoy can hit Rajasthan by afternoon. After this the weather may change in Rajasthan, Haryana, UP. Strong winds can blow. There is a possibility of 22 people getting injured due to the storm. However, there has been no loss of life so far. 23 animals have died and information about falling of 524 trees has come to the fore. Electric poles have also fallen at some places. Relief rescue teams are spread across the area. Wherever damage is happening or any untoward incident is known, the teams immediately go there and are engaged in rescue work.

PM Modi is taking stock every moment

PM Modi is constantly in touch with the state government. He took stock by talking to CM Bhupendra Patel over the phone. He has expressed concern over the safety of wild animals including lions in Gir Forest. Light has been affected in many areas due to the winds. Electricity was completely cut off in Mandvi city. Along with Jakhau-Mandvi road, many trees were also uprooted in Mandvi city. The cyclone still remains strong.

Cyclone diameter of 50 km

The Meteorological Department told that the diameter of the cyclone is 50 kilometers. It is moving ahead from Saurashtra and Kutch. Rail services have been affected due to Biparjoy. There has been a problem in the movement of 99 trains. Or they were canceled. Or has it been too late. Western Railway told that 23 trains have been canceled. Three trains have been short terminated. Seven trains have been short originated. Along with this, 99 trains have been cancelled.

Father and son died while rescuing cattle trapped in water

Due to Biparjoy storm in Gujarat, it is raining heavily in many areas. Meanwhile, a man and his son died while trying to save their goats trapped in a swollen drain in Bhavnagar.

Cyclone Biparjoy crossed the Kutch and Saurashtra coasts near Jakhau Port in Gujarat last night with a wind speed of 115 to 125 kmph. IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said that the cyclone is now moving from sea to land and its speed has reduced to 105 to 115 km per hour. It has been raining heavily in Gujarat since morning and the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Rajasthan on June 16.
