UGC NET Exam: After the cancellation of UGC-NET exam conducted by National Examination Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Education, this matter is now gaining political momentum. Congress termed the Narendra Modi-led government at the center as 'paper leak government', while Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav intensified the attack on the government after this decision. Akhilesh demanded a strict investigation under the supervision of the court and the strictest punishment to the culprits.

After the cancellation of the exam, Akhilesh Yadav said in a post on social media X, "... and now after the news of irregularities, UGC- NET exam has also been cancelled. Under the rule of Bharatiya Janata Party, the paper mafia is rigging every exam one after the other. This can also be someone's big conspiracy against the country."

In a long post, Akhilesh further said, "This can also be a big conspiracy against the administration of our country and the human resources of the country, which will have far-reaching negative consequences. That is why a strict investigation of the matter should be conducted under the supervision of the court and the culprits should also be given severe punishment. No criminal should be spared, no matter how big he is or even if he has the support of the government.”

When will PM discuss NEET exam: Kharge

Earlier, Congress also targeted the government over the cancellation of the exam. Congress termed the Modi government as a ‘paper leak government’. Also asked whether the Education Minister will now take responsibility in this matter. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the PM about the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam and asked when will Prime Minister Narendra Modi discuss NEET exam.

Kharge said in his post on X, “Prime Minister Modi, you discuss a lot about exams, but when will you discuss NEET exam? The cancellation of UGC-NET exam is a victory of the passion of lakhs of students.” Congress leader and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is going to contest from Wayanad seat, strongly criticized the government after the order to cancel the exam and demanded accountability.
