BJP has alleged in its complaint that on June 1, the day of the seventh and final phase of elections, RJD's national president-cum-former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav went to vote inside the polling booth, displaying his party RJD's election symbol lantern mark, by wrapping a sash/gamchha around his neck. According to BJP leaders, it seems that he was encouraging voters to vote in favor of RJD at the polling booth. BJP leaders alleged that due to this, voting is being affected. BJP has said that this is prohibited under the provisions of Section 130 of the Representation of People Act and is a punishable offence. BJP leaders have written in the letter that an order should be given to register an FIR against RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav under relevant sections and appropriate legal action should be taken.
