CM Arvind Kejriwal News: Delhi politics is at a crucial juncture. Amid the possibilities of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, the biggest question now is how he will choose his successor. In times of crisis in history, chief ministers have adopted two major models for selecting their successor: Lalu Yadav's and Champai Soren's. Now it will be interesting to see which model Kejriwal will adopt, or whether he will find a new way.

1. Lalu Yadav's CM selection model

When Lalu Yadav got embroiled in the fodder scam case in 1997, he made his wife Rabri Devi the Chief Minister. This was the first time that a leader handed over the post of Chief Minister to his wife. However, this decision of Lalu caused great discontent within the party and created turmoil in Bihar politics. His party somehow came to power in the 2000 elections, but after this the political position of the party became weak. Till date, no RJD Chief Minister has been able to become Chief Minister in Bihar. The failure of this model may be a sign that Kejriwal will have to take a careful decision.

2. Champai Soren's CM selection model

After the arrest of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he made Champai Soren the Chief Minister. But when Hemant Soren returned, Champai was removed from the chair and Champai joined the BJP. This model also failed as the elected Chief Minister rebelled. Similarly, Nitish Kumar had made Jitan Ram Manjhi the Chief Minister, but Manjhi also rebelled within a few months. These examples show that when a leader selects his successor, he is not guaranteed political stability.

Arvind Kejriwal's challenges

1. Party and public image: If Kejriwal makes a close aide the Chief Minister like Lalu's model, it may cause resentment against him at the party and public level. Also, currently his wife Sunita does not hold the post of MLA, which may lead to legal hurdles.

2. Discontent in the party: Many leaders have claims for the CM post. If one minister is chosen, the rest of the ministers may disagree to accept his leadership. Due to the proximity of elections in Delhi, the risk of a split in the party may also increase.

3. Caste and regional equations: If Kejriwal makes a person from one caste or region the Chief Minister, it may cause discontent among other castes and regions. Caste and regional issues in Delhi had subsided during his tenure, but these issues may emerge again with the selection of a new Chief Minister.

Positive aspects and possibilities

1. Party stability: Despite the Delhi liquor scam, there has been no major split in the party. Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have also paid attention to this. This indicates that there is still stability in the party's structure and leadership.

2. Election deadline: Assembly elections in Delhi are to be held after 5 months. The code of conduct will come into force a month before, which may cause a shortage of time for the new Chief Minister. Despite this, Kejriwal has made it clear that he himself will return to the Chief Minister's chair after the government is formed.

Conclusion: Selecting a new Chief Minister will be a complicated process for Arvind Kejriwal. He has already announced that he himself will sit on the Chief Minister's chair again, but in the meantime, the selection of new leadership will be an important part of his political strategy. Given the failures of the Lalu and Champai models, it remains to be seen what kind of approach Kejriwal adopts and what kind of leadership is able to fulfill the expectations of the party and the public.
