Delhi Rains Death: The Delhi government will provide a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who drowned due to heavy rains in the city on Friday. In an official communication with the Revenue Department, Minister Atishi said that there have been reports of "several deaths" due to drowning after excessive rains on June 28. "It is directed that the families of those who have lost their lives will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh," Atishi said in the order. She said the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) has been directed to identify the people who lost their lives with the cooperation of the area hospitals and Delhi Police and provide them compensation immediately on behalf of the Delhi government.

Atishi said in a post on 'X', "There have been reports of some people dying after Delhi received 228 mm of rain in 24 hours on June 28. The families of those who lost their lives will be given a compensation of Rs 10 lakh. Instructions have been given to ensure that the compensation amount reaches the bereaved families as soon as possible.'' Due to the rain and waterlogging in Delhi, the Delhi Traffic Police has also closed the Okhla underpass. Traffic is prohibited from here. In fact, a 60-year-old man died due to drowning in the underpass on Saturday.

This step has been taken after the death of the person. Due to heavy rains in the national capital on Friday and Saturday, waterlogging and traffic jams occurred in many areas of the city. The traffic police said in a post on 'X', "Traffic has been prohibited in the Okhla underpass due to waterlogging. Please keep this in mind while planning your journey." The closure of the underpass has increased the trouble of the passengers and the journey is also taking more time. A person named Sonu Gupta said, "I have been traveling on this route for some time, but never saw waterlogging here.
