Election 2024: Mayawati and her party BSP are going through a period of crisis at this time. BSP's influence has decreased in UP, where the party did not get any seat in the recent Lok Sabha elections and the vote share went to single digit. Mayawati is now considering the Supreme Court's decision on SC-ST reservation as a big issue, through which the party's lost strength can be regained. The enthusiasm of BSP workers has increased, and Mayawati will be re-elected as the party president in the National Executive meeting to be held in Lucknow on August 27. Her effort is to unite the Dalit voters through this issue and revive the party.

Mayawati sees hope in the Supreme Court's decision on SC-ST reservation. The hope is to bring BSP back to its old form. A mountain of challenges is in front of her. The Dalit voters who were supporting her till now are slowly shifting to Samajwadi Party and Congress. Voters of non-Jatav Valmiki, Khatik and Sonkar caste have already gone to BJP. The young generation of Dalit society in UP has started moving towards Chandrashekhar Ravan.

After a long time BSP leaders are in high spirits

Mayawati's nephew Akash Anand started his Lok Sabha campaign in UP from Nagina. Chandrashekhar was contesting from here on behalf of his party. After winning, he has become a Lok Sabha MP. He calls Mayawati his leader from every platform. But his party is cutting BSP's votes. After a long time BSP leaders are in high spirits. During Bharat Bandh, party workers reached many places in the country with blue flags. BSP supporters came out on the streets against the Supreme Court's decision.

There has been no tradition of dharna and demonstration in BSP. But this time, during Bharat Bandh, party workers from Patna to Deoria clashed with the police. They were beaten with sticks. But the protest against reservation with quota within quota continued. Party president Mayawati was not expecting such a huge support. In the Lok Sabha elections, the party could not even open its account. BSP has only one MLA in UP. In such a situation, the enthusiasm of the workers has given new strength to Mayawati.

Party workers taken to the streets after many years

A BSP leader was saddened that Behenji has been confined to social media. But BSP President Mayawati took the party workers to the streets after many years. Mayawati is trying to save her vote bank on the pretext of the Supreme Court's decision. For some time now, she starts her day with this issue. Early in the morning on social media, she writes against BJP, Congress and Samajwadi Party regarding Dalit reservation. Mayawati is strongly opposing the creation of sub-categories from creamy layer in SC reservation. The BSP chief feels that this decision can stop the scattering of Dalit votes in UP.

National Executive meeting on 27 August

BSP Chief Mayawati has called a meeting of the party's National Executive on 27 August. Senior party leaders from across the country will reach Lucknow for the meeting. In this meeting, Mayawati will be re-elected as the National President of the party. Earlier, she became the President in 2019. Earlier, the party president was elected every three years. But now after five years elections are being held.

Before Mayawati, Kanshi Ram was elected as the party president. After his health deteriorated, Mayawati was elected as the president for the first time on 18 September 2003. The first agenda of the meeting to be held in Lucknow is the election of the party president. Then Mayawati wants to gather public support across the country against the Supreme Court's decision on Dalit reservation. She has demanded the Modi government to change the court's decision by bringing a bill in the Parliament. Through this emotional issue, Mayawati is preparing to regain her lost support base.
