Asaduddin Owaisi News: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has reacted sharply to the Atala Masjid dispute. Owaisi said that the country is being pushed into a battle of history and this has put 14% of the Muslim population under pressure. He said that India cannot become a superpower in such an environment. Owaisi targeted the ruling party and said that every 'vahini', 'parishad', and 'sena' are working with their support. He appealed to protect the Places of Worship Act and end these disputes. What is the Atala Masjid dispute? The matter of Atala Masjid located in Jaunpur has now reached the Allahabad High Court. This mosque was built in the 14th century, but the Swaraj Vahini Association has claimed that where this mosque is located, there was earlier a temple of Atala Devi. The organization has filed a petition in the district court, seeking the right to worship in Atala Masjid. The management committee of the mosque has challenged the order of the local court in the Allahabad High Court. The committee has said that this order is based on claims calling the mosque a temple and it violates the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991. The matter will be heard in the High Court on 9 December 2024.Owaisi's statement and attack on the ruling partyAsaduddin Owaisi said that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure compliance with the Places of Worship Act. This Act of 1991 clearly states that the status of religious places will be maintained as per the status on 15 August 1947. Owaisi said that efforts are being made to spoil religious harmony by creating false controversies. He accused the ruling party of deliberately creating controversies through their supported organizations. He said, "We cannot become a superpower by pushing the country into a battle of history. The ruling party should rein in its supported organizations and protect the Places of Worship Act." Places of Worship Act and its meaningThe Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, enacted in 1991, aims to maintain the status of religious places as per the status of 1947. This means that no change can be made in the ownership or status of religious places. However, the Ayodhya dispute was exempted from this Act.But in recent years, disputes have arisen in many parts of the country regarding religious places. This matter has become an issue not only of religious sentiments but also of legal and political wrangling.Future and possible impact of the disputeThe outcome of the Atala Masjid dispute can affect not only this matter of Jaunpur but also other religious places in the country. The decision of the Allahabad High Court will affect the legal and social fabric in the coming days.Owaisi's statement has come at a time when religious issues are once again becoming the center of discussion in the country. He has appealed to maintain religious harmony and resolve disputes under the law. It will be important to see how the court and the government handle this dispute. Conclusion:Such issues require sensitivity and legal acumen. This controversy is not only a test of the judiciary but also of the government's commitment to maintaining religious harmony and law and order.
The people of India are being pushed into fights over history where none existed. No nation can become a superpower if 14% of its population faces such constant pressures.
