Rajasthan / Out on bail, man dresses as woman & kills widow he raped in Sirohi

Jodhpur: A rape accused, out on bail in Jodhpur, dressed up as a woman and allegedly murdered the survivor on Saturday. The accused had raped the woman last year in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Reportedly, the accused was upset as the woman was refusing to withdraw the case against him. 

The accused has been identified as Netram. He was a neighbour of the accused. Netram was accused of raping a woman last year on the pretext of help, following which, he was sent to judicial custody for six months. He was granted bail in April. 

Woman used to live with her two kids, younger sister

After stepping out of jail, the accused started asking the woman to withdraw the case. The woman, who was a widow, used to live with her two kids and a younger sister in the village. The woman approached the cops and lodged a complaint and was sent to jail, The Times of India reported.

Accused dressed up as woman, stabbed survivor

On Saturday night, the man dressed up as a woman and went to the survivor's house. The accused allegedly attacked the woman with a knife when she was asleep. The man did not stop here, he allegedly assaulted the woman's sister when she made an attempt to rescue her. The accused then fled from the spot. 

Ravi Prakash Meharda, ADG (crime) said that police teams were formed to probe the case and locate the accused. The police managed to arrest the accused on Monday morning.
