PM Narendra Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Spain today inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, where the C-295 military transport plane will be manufactured by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). This complex is the first private sector final assembly line (FAL) for military aircraft in India, which is a big step towards making India self-reliant in the defense sector. Today's historic day is proud for India as well as the Tata Group.

A deal worth Rs 21,935 crore was signed between India and Spain

A deal worth Rs 21,935 crore was signed between India and Spain in the year 2021 for the supply of 56 C-295 transport aircraft. The deal was aimed at replacing the aging Avro-748 aircraft of the Indian Air Force. Under this agreement, 16 aircraft will be sent fully assembled from Spain, while the assembly work of the remaining 40 aircraft will be done at the Tata Advanced Systems plant in Vadodara.

The first C-295 aircraft of this plant to be built in Vadodara will be ready by September 2026, and all the aircraft manufactured in this plant are to be delivered by August 2031. This project will not only increase the production of defense equipment in India but will also provide an opportunity to export the products manufactured under Make in India globally.

PM Modi's address remembering Ratan Tata

On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered former Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata and said that if Ratan Tata were on this occasion today, he would have been very happy. He said that the relationship between India and Spain will be strengthened through the Tata-Airbus manufacturing plant. Prime Minister Modi described the project as a strong foundation for India's 'Make in India, Make for World' mission and said that it will also strengthen India's global identity.

The Prime Minister described the project as an important milestone in India's defense self-reliance and said that it will prove to be helpful in strengthening the country's defense industry as well as giving India a strong position at the international level.

An important step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat

This project of manufacturing military aircraft by the private sector in India is an important milestone towards achieving the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. With this new plant, India will not only be able to meet its domestic demand but will also have the capability to export military aircraft to other countries in the future.

Thus, the inauguration of the Tata Aircraft Complex will prove to be a concrete step towards the development and international strengthening of India's defense sector, which will help in realizing the Prime Minister's vision of making India a self-reliant and strong nation.
