Nalanda University: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to Bihar today. He inaugurated the newly built Nalanda University campus. When PM Modi inaugurated it, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were also present with him. Apart from this, the heads of missions of 17 countries witnessed this occasion. Students from many countries also became witnesses.

Before the inauguration, PM Modi has closely observed the ruins of the ancient university. The invaders may have destroyed the 5th century Nalanda University and tried to destroy Hinduism and Buddhism. But, Nalanda University became more famous with the passing centuries.

PM Modi has tweeted before his visit and called today a very special day. He said, 'This is a very special day for our education sector. The new campus of Nalanda University will be inaugurated in Rajgir at around 10:30 am today. Nalanda has a deep connection with our glorious part. This university will definitely prove to be very helpful in meeting the educational needs of the youth.'

Features of the new campus of Nalanda University

Let us give you some special information about the new campus of Nalanda University. The new campus will have 2 academic blocks. It has a seating capacity of 1900 students. There are hostels with a capacity of 550 students. There is an amphitheater with a capacity of 2000 people. There is a library with a capacity of 3 lakh books. It is a net zero green campus. The university has been conceived as a joint collaboration between India and the East Asia Summit countries.

What did the interim Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University say?

Interim Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh said that this is a great day, a historic day as the new campus of Nalanda University is being inaugurated by the Prime Minister in the dignified presence of all the dignitaries like the Governor of Bihar, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister as well as External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Minister of State. This event was long awaited because ancient Nalanda was known to us all over the world and we were revered as 'Vishwa Guru' on the basis of it.

He said that it took a long time of 800 years to rebuild the Nalanda campus and it was the decision of the Government of India, with the great support of the Bihar government. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave 455 acres of land for this campus and the contribution of the Prime Minister is very important because he participated in the most important events, especially the G20. We are very excited and happy. This is a very auspicious moment for Nalanda University that this is happening after a long wait. It has been renewed, reborn and I hope it will have a big impact on the world.
