Rahul Gandhi News: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently insisted on going to Sambhal, but the administration refused to give him permission. After being stopped at the Ghazipur border, Rahul said that he is ready to go alone with the police, but the administration also rejected his offer. Rahul claims that being prevented from going to Sambhal is a violation of his constitutional and opposition leader's privileges.

Issue of Leader of Opposition's rights

Talking to reporters at the Ghazipur border, Rahul Gandhi insisted, "As the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, it is my right to visit the violence-affected area. This is part of the soul of democracy."

However, the police stopped his visit, saying that maintaining peace is a priority in the current circumstances. The administration cited Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code, which prohibits public gatherings.

Question on Constitution and democracy

Rahul Gandhi, showing a copy of the Constitution, called the incident against democratic values. He said, "This is an attempt to end the Constitution of India. We only want to know the truth by meeting the victims. But we are being deprived of constitutional rights."

Priyanka Gandhi also expressed anger on this issue. Terming the incident of stopping Rahul as undemocratic, she said, "The Leader of Opposition cannot be stopped. His rights should be respected."

Reference to Sambhal violence

Rahul Gandhi's visit was to meet the victim families in violence-affected Sambhal. This violence broke out on November 24, when communal tension reached a peak during the survey of a mosque. Four people died in this violence. The local court had ordered this survey on the basis of a petition, which claimed that Harihar temple used to be in place of Jama Masjid.

Administration's response

Senior Ghaziabad Police officer Ajay Kumar Mishra clarified that prohibitory orders are in place to maintain peace in Sambhal. The administration has banned the entry of outsiders till December 10.

Political and Constitutional Aspects

This incident by Rahul Gandhi has sparked a debate on the balance between democracy, constitutional rights and administrative constraints. Is this an attempt to suppress the voice of the opposition, or a cautious move by the administration?

This question remains unanswered, but it is clear that this incident has highlighted the need for deep reflection on the rights and constitutional provisions of the opposition in Indian democracy.
