Bank accounts, movable-immovable properties, money trail being investigated

Hathras SP Nipun Agarwal said that Devprakash Madhukar was arrested from Najafgarh (Delhi) late on Friday evening, while Sikandrarao police arrested Ramprakash Shakya from Kailora Chauraha and Sanju Yadav from Gopalpur Kachori, Sikandrarao on Saturday. He said that accused Devprakash Madhukar had become the fund raiser of the organization due to being associated with this organization for a long time and was collecting money to run the organization and organize satsangs etc.

Madhukar's father said - we do not know Baba

From the interrogation so far, it seems that some political party is associated with him for their political and personal interests. All bank accounts, movable-immovable properties, money trail etc. related to accused Devprakash Madhukar are being investigated, in which assistance will also be taken from other agencies as per requirement. Meanwhile, Madhukar's father Tej Pratap, while talking to news agency PTI, said that we neither believe in Baba nor know him. We have never been to Baba's satsang. How Devprakash Madhukar went to the satsang, we don't know... only he knows.

The preacher's car was deliberately taken out from the crowd

According to Hathras police, it has also come to light during interrogation that Baba's sevadars took his car out from the crowd, while they were aware of the fact that a stampede for the charanraj while taking the car out of the crowd could have caused a terrible accident. Apart from this, the fact is also being investigated in depth whether this incident was done at the behest or instigation of any of the organizing sevadars. According to the police, as per requirement, the arrested sevadars and organizers will be taken into police custody remand and questioned.

No effort was made to control the crowd

The police said that on preliminary interrogation, the accused Devprakash Madhukar has told that he is working on contract as a Junior Engineer in MNREGA in Etah district since 2010. He has been associated with this organization for years and organizes the programs of this organization and collects funds for the organization. He was the main organizer of the satsang program organized in village Phulrai on July 2 and permission for this program was taken by him. The police administration was prevented from any kind of interference inside the event venue by the accused Devprakash and other sevadars.

Any person was prevented from doing videography or photography at the event venue. Traffic system etc. was affected by violating many conditions mentioned in the permission letter issued by the administration. It has also become clear from the interrogation that no effort was made by them to control the crowd and all of them fled from the spot.
