Niti Aayog Meeting: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged discrimination in the Niti Aayog meeting. After reaching Kolkata from Delhi, Mamata Banerjee said that Chandrababu Naidu spoke for 20 minutes in the Niti Aayog meeting. The Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal, Chhattisgarh and Goa also spoke for 15-20 minutes but I was given only 5 minutes to speak. In the meeting, I started being stopped by ringing the bell. I said if you do not want to listen to Bengal then it is okay and I boycotted the meeting and left.

CM Mamata Banerjee said this

CM Mamata Banerjee said that I believe that there should always be a cooperative relationship between the state and the center. There should be no politics on development. I thought I would speak for everyone in the meeting on behalf of the India Alliance. I wanted to speak about how NDA allies were given more and others less budget. If you paralyze the states, the Center will also be paralyzed.

Mamata accused of lying

Mamata said that I told them about the Indo-Bhutan river issues. Many people are misleading on the Teesta Bangladesh issue. We put our point on this. The Bengal CM said that Rajnath Singh said 5-7 minutes are fixed for everyone. I said that you are constantly ringing the bell. I am a senior leader. It has not been more than 6 minutes since I spoke. I am the only opposition leader who has come here. From now on, we have to think whether we can go there again or not. They are lying now.

The TMC supremo said, "I have no problem with special attention to some states. I asked why they are discriminating against other states. This should be reviewed. I am speaking on behalf of all the states. I said that we are the ones who work, while they only give instructions." She said, "Niti Aayog has no financial powers, so how will it work? Give it financial powers or bring back the Planning Commission.

Spoke for only five minutes

Mamata Banerjee said, "Chandrababu Naidu presented his views for 20 minutes in the meeting (NITI Aayog meeting), the Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal, Chhattisgarh and Goa also presented their views for 15-20 minutes, but I spoke for only 5 minutes and people started stopping me by ringing the bell, I said okay if you don't want to listen to Bengal then it's okay and I boycotted the meeting and left"

Mamata Banerjee said, "I was the only one from the opposition-ruled states who had gone, they should have given me 30 minutes, I am not that foolish that I don't manage my time, at the beginning of the meeting Rajnath Singh said that everyone should present their views in 5-7 minutes, but I was not even allowed to speak for 7 minutes."

She said that our people were given 20 minutes and the rest were given 0, I did the right thing by boycotting the meeting, I will not let them insult Bengal. The opposition parties which are running the government in other states. I stand firmly with them.

Will not attend NITI Aayog meeting now

Seven Chief Ministers of the opposition alliance "India" boycotted the NITI Aayog meeting alleging deficiencies in the Union Budget. Only the Chief Minister of Bengal attended the meeting held on Saturday morning. However, she walked out of the meeting shortly after. Mamata raised the question that despite being the only representative of the opposition party, why was she not allowed to speak for more than five minutes, why was her mic turned off.

Mamata Banerjee said that I said that you (the central government) should not discriminate against any state government. I wanted to speak more, but I was given only five minutes to speak. People before me spoke for 10-20 minutes. This is insulting. I will no longer be present in any meeting of NITI Aayog.

TMC accused of insulting Bengal

TMC MP Saugata Roy said that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had gone to the NITI Aayog meeting. She wanted to raise the demands of West Bengal but after 5 minutes her mic was switched off after which she boycotted the meeting and walked out. This is an insult not only to Mamata Banerjee but to the entire West Bengal.
