Maharashtra Election 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going to release the BJP's manifesto for the Maharashtra Assembly elections in Mumbai today. The event will be held at the Sofitel Hotel in Bandra, Mumbai, in which Home Minister Amit Shah will open the box of the party's upcoming election promises. BJP's move is an attempt to strengthen the support of the Mahayuti in Maharashtra, in which the joint government of CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar is committed to maintaining its hold.CM Shinde had already announced 10 promisesBefore the BJP's Sankalp Patra, on November 5, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had announced the ten major promises of the Mahayuti manifesto in Kolhapur. These included Ladli Behna Yojana, relief schemes for farmers, senior citizen pension and facilities for Anganwadi workers. Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were also present during this. Shinde put forward the strong policies of the Mahayuti and assured the public that his government will fulfill all the promises.Congress also announced guaranteesBefore BJP, Congress promised five guarantees in its election manifesto. Congress' promises include Rs 3,000 per month to women, free bus travel for women and girls under the Mahalaxmi scheme, loan waiver up to Rs 3 lakh for farmers, reservation for unemployed youth within the 50 percent reservation limit, and health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh. Apart from this, Congress has also promised financial assistance of up to Rs 4,000 every month.BJP's attack: Congress' promises called "false"Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the Congress manifesto and termed Congress as a party of "false promises" on social media. PM Modi said that it is easy for Congress to make promises, but fulfilling them proves impossible. Modi said that Congress has a long-standing habit of deceiving the people by making promises but failing to fulfil them.CM Eknath Shinde also questioned the Congress manifesto and said that Congress has made similar promises in many states like Karnataka, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. But later they go back on their promises. Shinde quipped that either there is a "printing mistake" in the promises of Congress or they start making excuses of lack of money.Maharashtra Assembly Election: Dates announcedElections for the 288 seats of Maharashtra Assembly will be held in a single phase on November 20 and the election results will be declared on November 23. This time the contest will be seen between Mahayuti (which includes BJP and Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar alliance) and Mahavikas Aghadi (Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena alliance). In this election, while the BJP and the Mahayuti government are preparing to raise the issues of development and public service, the Congress is trying to win over the public by expressing faith in its "five guarantees".Conclusion: Who will win the public's trust? To woo the public in the Maharashtra assembly elections, both parties are vigorously promoting their promises and announcements. The BJP and Mahayuti have given the message of development and trust, while the Congress has resorted to guarantees. The decision on whose promises the public trusts more will come out with the election results on November 23.
