Delhi Liquor Scam: In the Delhi liquor scam case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will file a charge sheet against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the end of May-June, that is, the charge sheet will be filed in the excise scam in the next 2 months. It is being told that ED will take another big step in the charge sheet. The central agency wants the trial of the case to start as soon as possible. At present Kejriwal is lodged in Tihar Jail of the capital and is in judicial custody till April 15. CM Kejriwal is running the government from jail itself.According to ED sources, now the arrests in the Delhi Liquor Policy case are almost complete. At the same time, today a decision has to be taken on whether Kejriwal will get five legal visits a week or not, but before that on Tuesday the CM got a big blow from the Delhi High Court. The court upheld his arrest. The court said in the order that Kejriwal's arrest is not wrong, it is legal.Courts operate as per law, not due to political pressure – HCThe court rejected the petition in which the CM had challenged the ED's arrest. His lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said before the court that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested to stop him from the elections. The court's comment on this was that the courts operate according to the law and not due to political pressure. The court further said that politics has an impact on governments. The High Court has drawn a long line, in which it has given great advice to the petitioner to look beyond politics and look at the legal matter. What did the Delhi High Court say?
- The material collected by ED shows that Kejriwal conspired and used the proceeds of crime in making the excise policy.
- ED was able to prove that money was sent for Goa elections through Hawala.
- Sending reply to ED summons cannot be considered as participation in the investigation.
- On the question of credibility and statements of government witnesses before the court, the court has rejected all the arguments and said that whenever the statement of a government witness is written, it is written in front of the judge and not the ED.
- The court decides whether to make a government witness or not. In such a situation, when you question the government witness, that question is not on the ED but on the court.
