Agnipath Scheme: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has again raised questions on the claims of the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar Singh, who was martyred in the line of duty. He has said that Ajay Kumar Singh's family has not received any compensation. Ajay Kumar died on 18 January in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.Rahul Gandhi shared a video on Twitter which is allegedly of Ajay Kumar's father. He said that his family received Rs 50 lakh as insurance from a private bank and Rs 48 lakh from the Army Group Insurance Fund.The army had given a statementThe army had already clarified on this matter that Rs 98.39 lakh has been paid to the family. ADG PI said that the Indian Army salutes the sacrifice of Agniveer Ajay Kumar. Also, it was said that Rs 98.39 lakh has already been paid to the family of martyr Agniveer. He said that the total amount would be Rs 1.65 crore. According to the rules of the Agniveer scheme, the help of Rs 67 lakh will be given after police verification.The Indian Army had rejected Rahul Gandhi's claim on social media that compensation has not been given to the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar. The army had said that his family has already been given Rs 98.39 lakh out of the outstanding amount. The army had said that they will be given a total amount of about 1.65 crore.
