After a rape case was registered against Rohit Joshi, son of Water Minister Mahesh Joshi, at Sadar Bazar police station in Delhi, now the voices of protest have started rising in the Congress itself. Divya Maderna, Congress MLA from Osian and daughter of former water supply minister Mahipal Maderna, has gone against Rohit Joshi and in favor of the victim. Divya Maderna has questioned the functioning of Rajasthan Police in four tweets and advocated for protection of the victim's family. Divya has also raised questions on not registering a case in Rajasthan.

Divya Maderna tweeted – The Rajasthan government had given instructions to register an FIR in the SP office from June 1, 2019, if the case was not registered in the police stations. The Chief Minister had also directed to conduct a departmental inquiry against the concerned SHO for refusing to register the complaint of the complainant. Zero number FIR registered in Sadar Bazar police station is still under investigation. I have a serious question with the police administration that why this FIR was not registered by the Rajasthan Police? The DGP should order an immediate departmental inquiry against the SHO who refused to register the FIR.

Divya further wrote – DGP and Rajasthan Police should provide security to the victim and her family at their ancestral residence in Rajasthan. Our government is very sensitive, but police should take quick action. This case has raised serious questions on the working style of Rajasthan Police.

Political meaning of raising questions of Divya Maderna

Congress MLA Divya Maderna's stand against Mahesh Joshi's son will now be seen as a question of raising questions in his own party. It is being linked to pressure on Mahesh Joshi to resign. By raising the question of the MLA of his own party, now his opponents will be more aggressive on Mahesh Joshi.

Mahesh Joshi was told rubber stamp minister in the assembly

Divya Maderna had fiercely surrounded Minister Mahesh Joshi during the debate on the demands for grants for water supply during the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha. Divya had expressed displeasure over discrimination in water works in the area and not taking the opinion of the MLA. He had said in the assembly that water supply minister Mahesh Joshi comes from the city, he does not even know the water problem of the rural area. Officers are running the department, ministers are rubber stamps.
