Budget Session 2024: The central government has called an all-party meeting today i.e. Sunday before the budget session of Parliament. During the meeting, the government will request cooperation from all opposition parties for the smooth functioning of both the houses of Parliament. The all-party meeting will be held at 11.00 am. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will also attend the all-party meeting. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will also be present. TMC will not participate in this meeting.The budget session will start from Monday and will run till the 12th of next month. There will be 19 meetings during this period. In this session, six bills are expected to be introduced by the government, including a bill to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act. In this session, the budget of Jammu and Kashmir will also get the approval of Parliament. At present, the Legislative Assembly does not exist here and the Center is ruling.General budget will be presented on July 23Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the general budget on July 23. Before this, tomorrow i.e. on Monday, she will also present the Economic Survey in Parliament. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has called an all-party meeting on July 21 to understand the issues that all political parties want to raise during the budget session. During this session, the opposition can raise issues like NEET paper leak and rail safety.Six new bills to be introduced in the budget sessionThe bills to be introduced and passed during the session include Finance Bill, Disaster Management, Boilers Bill, Indian Aircraft Bill 2024, Coffee Promotion and Development Bill and Rubber Promotion and Development Bill. Apart from these, the budget will be presented and discussed. The Appropriation Bill will be passed in this session. Apart from all this, the budget of Jammu and Kashmir will be discussed, after which it will be passed.BJD will demand special state statusBiju Janata Dal led by former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced that it will play the role of a strong opposition and will aggressively raise issues of state interest in Parliament. Patnaik, who was elected president of the BJD parliamentary party, has asked his party MPs to raise the demand for granting special state status to Odisha.
