In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Savitri Thakur defeated Radheshyam Muvel, considered close to Rahul Gandhi, from Dhar Lok Sabha seat by 2 lakh 18 thousand 665 votes. Savitri Thakur got 7 lakh 94 thousand 449 votes, while Radheshyam Muvel got 5 lakh 75 thousand 784 votes. From Dhar, BJP had fielded Savitri Thakur in the election battle by cutting the ticket of sitting MP Chhatar Singh Darbar. Earlier in 2014 also Savitri Thakur had won the election from Dhar Lok Sabha seat, but in 2019 her ticket was cut. This time the party trusted her again and she lived up to their expectations.
