UP Politics: Before the Lok Sabha elections, former MP Dhananjay Singh has suffered a big shock. Baahubali Dhananjay Singh's hopes of contesting the elections seem to be dashing. Former MPs Dhananjay Singh and Santosh Vikram have been found guilty in the kidnapping and extortion case. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Sharad Tripathi declared Dhananjay Singh guilty. As soon as Dhananjay Singh was found guilty, he was sent to jail. The hearing on the punishment matter will be held on Wednesday.The case was registered on 10 May 2020According to the information received, Abhinav Singhal, project manager of Namami Gange, resident of Muzaffarnagar, had lodged an FIR against Dhananjay and his partner Vikram under kidnapping, extortion and other sections at Line Bazar police station in Jaunpur on 10 May 2020. It is alleged that Santosh Vikram along with two associates kidnapped the plaintiff and took him to the residence of the former MP. There Dhananjay Singh came with a pistol and abused him and pressurized him to supply low quality material.
Dhananjay was out on bailAbhinav Singhal alleged that if Dhananjay Singh refused to obey, he was threatened and extortion was demanded. FIR was registered in this case. After this the former MP was arrested and later came out of jail on bail.Dhananjay was preparing for Lok Sabha electionsBahubali Dhananjay Singh was busy preparing for the Lok Sabha elections. He was active in the field for a long time. He wanted to contest Lok Sabha elections from Jaunpur. He had indicated this on March 2 itself. By tweeting he had said- 'Friends! Be prepared...the goal is just one Lok Sabha 73, Jaunpur'.Apart from this, he had also shared a photo of himself in which it was written 'Jeetega Jaunpur, Jeetenge Hum'.
